Broiler Research House

This building is 40 × 8.5 meters with 92, 1.5×1.3m pens, capable of rearing 25-30 commercial broilers per pen. Every pen is equipped with floor heating, a plastic feeder, and five 360-degree nipples. It can house 2500-3000 birds from day-old to 40 days of age. There are four rows of pens with a separate row watering system each. A controller room and two workrooms are located on one end of the building. The watering system consists of nipple drinkers and birds are fed manually. The room can be divided into 4 equal-sized rooms (10×8.5) in order to run an environmental study. Each room houses approximately 660 birds at 30 birds/pen. The ventilation and environmental controls are separate in each room. The equipment of this center includes the following:  Feed Mixing Room: A feed mixing room for experimental diet preparation and storage. The feed meal is equipped with different types of mills and micromixers and pelletizer to prepare diets.  Pen Floor Facility: The uniform environmental condition between all experimental units provides the same condition for rearing and minimizes the experimental errors.  Cooling System: The cooling pads are located behind all sidewall inlets to supply fresh and cold air while needed.  Heating System: Floor heating system plus warm air tunnels, which guarantee the uniform warm air distribution for all experimental units.  Air Inlets: The fresh air provides by sidewall inlets. Inlets are responsible for providing fresh air throughout the building, controlling the direction of airflow, and maintaining sufficient air velocity.  Fogging System: To provide uniform humidity, one nozzle is located in front of each sidewall inlet.
